"LG 60PY3D 60" 1080p Plasma Widescreen HDTV is awesome. The picture is outstanding and surprisingly it also has fantastic sound (something I didn't expect to be impressed by). The best thing about it is the company you are buying. LG has the best customer service I have encountered of any electronics company. I had previously owned a Zenith that went dead on me. After some investigation I found they had gone bankrupt. I figured I was hosed but I later found out LG had purchased Zenith. After a few phone calls LG actually sent someone to my house to see if it could be repaired, free of charge. When they discovered it could not they replace it with this TV FREE OF CHARGE. They were in no way obligated to do this, they just did it. It wasn't even under Zenith's warrantee. The whole experience left me feeling that LG really cares about its reputation at an individual customer level. I will go out of my way to buy their products from here on. Great company!"

"You could buy a decent used car for less than LG's 60-incher — granted, few craigslist clunkers will deliver this level of sophistication. The face of its sleek case is devoid of buttons, but power it on and touch-sensitive controls light up the shiny black surface (yes, exactly like Star Trek). An LCD in the base provides channel and adjustment info. The set displays accurate color, too, and a soft yet contrasty picture that breathed much-needed life into our Blu ray test flick.

WIRED: It's freakin' huge, man! Unless you're buds with Mark Cuban, you'll own bragging rights. 1080p was born to live in sets like this. Menus and icons look like you paid big bucks ... which you did.

TIRED: Can't sync up some HD sources. Jaggies and moir on some test video."

"My husband just got a LG 60PY3D 60" 1080p Plasma Widescreen HDTV,and boy i love it so much. My children love it as well. I have two children and they both wake up in the morning ready to watch the big screen and it keeps them busy for hours. But when i first got it my daughter always wanted to hug and kiss it because the cartoon was so life like tand it was the cartoon characters she loves like dora the explorer.Anyhow that is why i love my big screen tv. "

"Compared to the competition, the price was the final deciding point for my purchase. The setup is very easy, with excellent array of inputs. Be sure to have help setting LG 60PY3D 60" 1080p Plasma Widescreen HDTV up, as it weighs nearly 200 pounds.

The onscreen menu display is intuitive and easy to use. It allows for good fine picture adjustments. I found that using Video Essentials DVD helped me to optimize the picture compared to the factory settings.

The picture quality is excellent for standard and high definition DVD, except for two things - 1. a persistence of image is noted in dark scenes very briefly, immediately after a bright scene; 2. black levels are not quite as deep as it is with the Pioneer Kuro. Check out the review in Consumer Reports, March, 2008.

Audio is decent, but does not do justice to the video. Wish list: While the remote is easy to use, I wish it was a universal learning remote so I could use it with non-LG devices. Backlit buttons would be helpful, too. Also, I would like to be able to have separate picture settings for each video source.

I have had the system less than one month, so cannot comment on reliability. For the price, I am very pleased.
